🛠️ Why Signing Speed Matters in 2026
With the Alpenglow consensus upgrade, Solana's block finality is ~150ms (median). Fast signing helps your transaction land in the next block and avoid delays; very slow signing can mean missed slots or lower priority in congested conditions.
Furthermore, SIMD-0296 has increased the maximum transaction size from 1232 bytes to 4096 bytes. This allows for complex "v1" transactions (ZK-proofs and multi-hop DeFi). Older devices with low RAM (legacy Ledgers/Trezors) often crash when attempting to parse these larger data packets.
